Port Townsend, where she makes her home is just a short ferry ride from Victoria, BC. At least several visits per year are “required” to sojourn to Victoria on Vancouver Island. It is one of her favorite places to visit.

Summer at the Empress, Victoria Canada Approaching Victoria from the water is very dramatic. The Empress Hotel and harbor are framed by flower baskets. It is romantic as well as very beautiful. I always enjoy our sojourns to Victoria.

Classic Boat Festival at Victoria, B.C. The wooden halibut schooner Crusader and the Halvorn are seen here in front of the Empress. I was aboard the Schooner Adventuress as she entered the harbor. I knew I had to paint this scene.
